Mr Narendra Chandrasekara is a 40 year old gentleman with suspected Guillain Barré Syndrome seen by your neurology consultant. Your consultant has asked you to talk to the patient about the need to do a lumbar puncture and what it involves. Please explain the procedure to Mr Chandrasekara and answer any questions he may have. You do not need to consent the patient.
